The College of Arts & Sciences is presently undergoing a pilot study of new General Education reforms for students matriculating to the College in Fall 2017. Here you will find information regarding the General Education requirements for A&S students who matriculated prior to 2017.
Area and Competency Requirements
All students (excluding Echols Scholars) who matriculated to the College of Arts & Sciences prior to 2017 must complete the College's Area Requirements and Competency Requirements.
Forum Requirements
Students may elect an alternative General Education path by completing a Forum. Students who enroll in a Forum must also complete the College Competency Requirements.
To elect a Forum pathway, students must have applied to (and been admitted in) a Forum the summer prior to matriculation.
Students who were not accepted to a Forum must complete the College Area Requrirements and Competency Requirements.
